"We are future shapers" is a brand story that embraces diversity and inclusivity, and a worldview grounded in faith. After completing market research and crafting a comprehensive brand positioning framework, Oklahoma Baptist University engaged Red Cactus to help develop a brand launch strategy to raise awareness and enhance the University's reputation among key constituents.
Red Cactus conducted workshops and planning sessions leading to a one-year brand rollout plan. The plan outlined target audiences, established goals and provided overarching strategic and tactical components to consistently and creatively convey the OBU brand story to both internal and external audiences.
The brand plan was successfully implemented across all marketing and communication touchpoints by the OBU team, leading to multiple awards including "Best in Show" at the 2021 Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) Awards Competition.
Red Cactus continues to work with Oklahoma Baptist University to execute the brand through an ongoing storytelling campaign that features inspiring profiles of current students, faculty, and alumni making a difference. This included writing a Feature Story about President Dr. Heath A. Thomas, printed in OBU's Summer 2021 alumni magazine.
To develop the storytelling campaign, Red Cactus schedules and conducts personal one-on-one interviews. These stories are then written and presented in full form in the alumni magazine, and also condensed and utilized across digital and social media platforms. Red Cactus is also writing video scripts for 12 OBU programs/divisions.
